Chapter 483 - 456: Picking Up the Bride in Style
Chapter 483 - 456: Picking Up the Bride in Style
The Royal Capital Golden Feather City was always bustling during the annual festival, and this year was especially so with Her Highness Princess’s wedding. A joyous atmosphere filled the air inside and outside the Golden Feather Palace, as if even the air itself was saturated with sweetness and blessings.
Blanche was dressed in an exquisite long lace dress. Its hem was as flawless and white as a blooming lily, inlaid with pearls and gems that glittered brilliantly under the light.
Her hair was meticulously woven into intricate braids, adorned with several exquisite, artisan-crafted ornaments that further enhanced her devastating beauty.
In just a few more hours, she would leave the palace where she had lived for twenty years to start a new life in an unfamiliar land. Blanche was very anxious about this, yet also very much looked forward to it.
She was anxious about facing a completely new environment, but she was excited to be living with the person she loved.
"I wonder when Ronin will get here?"
She couldn’t help but look up at the sky outside. She knew the wedding schedule, but she was still worried that some accident might happen on the long journey from Wushan Castle to Golden Feather City, causing a delay.
"Don’t worry, he’ll be on time."
Missy Knight said with a smile, "All you need to do is relax and be a beautiful bride."
"Thank you, Missy."
Blanche smiled sweetly. "You were the one who accompanied me to Wushan Castle back then. I never thought Ronin and I would end up getting married. Looking back on my time in Wushan City, it’s such a wonderful memory."
"Yes, time really flies!"
Missy couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.
The Baron from back then was now a Marquis of the Kingdom. And some of the major figures from that time, like Ossen Count, and Jesus, had all been defeated and destroyed by Ronin.
Ronin was powerful, but he was also the wisest and gentlest nobleman she had ever met. No one else was as considerate as Ronin was to commoners, or even slaves.
This was what she had seen and heard recently in Wubei Territory.
ROAR—
The roar was low and deep, yet it seemed to have an incredible penetrating power that startled the bustling crowds.
Blanche was overjoyed. "Ronin’s here!"
Missy also smiled. "I heard he’s coming on his dragon today. I didn’t get to see it when I visited Wubei Territory a while ago, so this is the perfect chance."
"You’re going to be blown away!"
Blanche blinked and said, "Really!"
High in the sky, Ronin rode his Giant Dragon, flying at incredible speed over Wushan Territory, across the Screaming Sea, and toward Golden Feather City.
Ronin patted Carlos’s back and instructed, "Let’s make an entrance."
And so, Carlos let out a long, resonant roar.
The sound pierced the high heavens, reaching Horn Bay and Golden Feather City far below.
Even from thousands of meters away, the sound was terrifying enough to startle birds in the forests into panicked flight, scattering in every direction.
"That must be Ronin arriving!"
Bruno stood up with a smile. As the King of the realm, his personally welcoming Ronin was a tremendous show of respect.
The festive, bustling crowds in the Golden Feather Palace also stopped their conversations and couldn’t help but walk out of the grand hall to gaze at the sky.
They knew the Giant Dragon was coming, and every one of them wanted to witness it with their own eyes.
Bruno had come out for largely the same reason.
In the crowd, MacLaren looked up at the sky. He had heard about the Giant Dragon from Patridge, who claimed it was dozens of meters long. MacLaren had been highly skeptical, thinking Patridge was just making excuses to save face after his defeat.
Today, he would finally see for himself.
Meanwhile, Duke Ference, Andrea, and others were also watching with an evaluative eye, intending to gauge Ronin’s power in detail.
ROAR—
Another dragon’s roar, this time closer. Everyone’s hearts trembled, and some of the noblewomen’s faces turned pale.
Crown Prince Garrett narrowed his eyes, displeased. ’He has a dragon, fine. But who is this grand spectacle for?’
A third dragon’s roar boomed like a thunderclap from the high heavens, and fear appeared on people’s faces.
"Here it comes!"
Everyone could see a black dot on the horizon, which grew larger and larger at a visible rate.
"Oh, my heavens!"
"That’s the Giant Dragon?"
"How can it be so big!"
"Its wingspan must be over a hundred meters, right?"
Countless panicked cries rang out as all the nobles were stunned by the sight.
Even Garrett, who had been disdainful just moments before, now had a change in expression.
"Ronin!"
He gritted his teeth. In that moment, he realized that even as a Proud Sun Knight, there was still a seemingly insurmountable gap between him and Ronin.
This colossal creature, over fifty meters long with a wingspan of more than a hundred meters, was simply too oppressive!
The disparity made him feel powerless and hopeless, and his hatred for Ronin grew even deeper.
In fact, it wasn’t just him; Ference, Andrea, MacLaren, and the others all had their expressions change as well.
’No wonder Patridge lost...’
A look of terror appeared on MacLaren’s face. Faced with such a behemoth, warships on the sea would be nothing more than slow-moving targets.
As for the Magic Energy Cannons and Magic Energy Arrows, MacLaren looked at Carlos’s steel-like scales and wondered, ’Can that military hardware even do anything?’
Bruno felt a surge of lingering fear. Fortunately, he had changed his strategy in time and established a good relationship with Ronin.
If things had continued to deteriorate, forget about the knights from Wushan Territory—this behemoth alone would have been more than enough of a headache for him.
"Alright, Carlos, rein in your aura a bit. Don’t scare the guests."
Ronin communicated telepathically, giving his instructions.
Carlos acknowledged and began to retract its aura while folding its wings. Its sun-blotting figure slowly descended onto the grand plaza.
"Ronin pays his respects to Your Majesty!"
Ronin bowed from his position atop Carlos’s head, a scene that created a powerful visual impact.
Bruno secretly swallowed. As the King of the realm, however, he was still able to maintain his composure.
He laughed heartily and said, "Come, Ronin. You and Blanche are the stars of the day."
Ronin stepped into the void, and with a single leap, he landed before the crowd.
"Sorry to keep you all waiting."
He greeted the crowd with a smile, then followed Bruno into the grand hall.
As the nobles offered their greetings one after another, they also kept glancing at the enormous creature prostrated on the plaza.
This day would leave an indelible mark on their minds.
For a long time to come, whenever this wedding was mentioned, they would likely recall it with a heavy sigh.
"That was an excellent display of force!"
Ference and Andrea gathered together, their tones heavy as they spoke.
Only now did they understand just how much confidence Wushan Territory had when it dared to make a move against Moonlight Valley.
"If you had to face that Giant Dragon, what would you say your chances are?" Ference asked in a low voice.
Andrea’s brow furrowed, and he shook his head helplessly. "Judging from its size and aura, its power definitely exceeds the Seventh-level. It’s most likely an Eighth-level Magical Beast."
Any Eighth-level Magical Beast is incredibly powerful. A Silver Moon Knight of the same level would struggle to deal with one without some serious skills, let alone a Giant Dragon like this.
"With enough preparation, we might have a chance if we bombard it with high-powered Magic Energy Cannons like the Heart-Piercing Wave or Flame God’s Roar."
Andrea stated his thoughts in a low voice, "Being big has its disadvantages. At least it’s an easier target."
Ference grunted in agreement. "We can traverse the skies, but we can’t match its speed. If we could solve the problem of aerial flight, perhaps the two of us together could seriously injure it, or even slay it!"
Although they talked as if they had a way to deal with it, they both knew the truth.
Even if they really did manage to slay the dragon, they would suffer devastating casualties themselves!
But in that case, what would be the point of their victory?
For a moment, they were at a loss as to how they should deal with the Giant Dragon, or how to move against Ronin and Wushan Territory.
