Chapter 584 I’ll Solve the Problem for You!

Yang Qi sighed. It seemed he couldn’t stay here any longer. Just as he was about to get up, the door to the private room opened, and three people walked in: a couple and a little girl. The girl was Tongtong, and the couple was Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue. After her treatment from the Qifei Group, Tongtong had improved significantly. She no longer needed to be hospitalized, only requiring regular outpatient treatments. She was expected to make a full recovery within a month, so her parents had brought her along.

Upon seeing Lin Tao, Chen Chong’s expression changed instantly. This is trouble. Yang Qi and Liao Fusheng haven’t even left, and now Lin Tao is here. He could only brace himself and walk over to greet them. "Brother Tao, Sister Xue, everyone’s been waiting for you! You two are the stars of today’s reunion!" But Tongtong ignored him completely and ran straight to Yang Qi’s side. "Uncle Yang, you’re here too! Mom and Dad weren’t lying! Oh, and after eating the candy you gave me, I feel much better. The doctor said I’ll be discharged soon and won’t have to go to heaven. I can stay with Mom and Dad!"

"Congratulations!" Yang Qi said with a laugh.

Witnessing this, everyone was stunned. Tongtong had completely snubbed Chen Chong, yet she ran to Yang Qi first. Could Yang Qi still be in contact with Lin Tao’s family?

It’s over! Chen Chong’s heart sank as he sensed things were about to go very wrong. He had assumed everyone was like him—quick to forsake friends after getting rich—and had acted on that assumption. Now, it had backfired, creating this awkward situation.

"Huh? Yang Qi, Liao Fusheng, where are you two going?" Lin Tao asked, also taken aback when he sensed something was amiss. It was clear they were about to leave.

Just as Liao Fusheng was about to speak, Chen Chong hurriedly interjected, "It’s all a misunderstanding, a complete misunderstanding! Qin Shuang and Miao Yue, those two bitches, kept provoking and insulting Yang Qi. I tried to stop them, but I couldn’t! They got angry and decided to leave. Look at the mess this has caused."

Hearing this, Qin Shuang and Miao Yue were dumbfounded. He had just thrown them under the bus. Still, they didn’t dare confront him, since they couldn’t afford to get on his bad side. They could only stammer out an explanation, "Brother Tao, please don’t get the wrong idea. We’re just a bit too blunt and misspoke. We really didn’t mean any harm."

Even a fool could see the close relationship between Lin Tao and Yang Qi. Picking a fight with Yang Qi now was simply asking for death.

"Hmph!" Lin Tao snorted. "I thought you invited me here for a genuine reunion, a chance to reminisce about the past. I never expected you to be here bullying my brother!"

Chen Chong and the others were drowning in regret. If they had known Yang Qi was so close to Lin Tao, none of them would have spouted such nonsense. They had gained nothing from it but a fleeting sense of smug satisfaction. Now, they had a huge problem. Offending Yang Qi was the same as indirectly offending Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue.

"We really didn’t bully him! Right, everyone?" Chen Chong pleaded with a bitter smile.

"Right, right, we didn’t! We were just joking around!" the crowd quickly chimed in.

Lin Tao’s face darkened. "You didn’t bully him? Then why is he sitting at that tiny table over there?"

"That’s not our fault!" Chen Chong explained. "He didn’t give us any notice, so we didn’t have a seat prepared for him. We just had to make do."

"Heh," Lin Tao sneered. "I originally invited Yang Qi for *your* benefit. I never expected you to ostracize and bully him. What a pack of blind dogs."

These idiots. If they had been even a little nicer to Yang Qi, given his personality, he would have been good to them in return. But these fools just had to mock, ridicule, and bully him. They were just asking for trouble.

"Yes, yes, we were the blind ones! I was wrong!" Chen Chong reacted quickly. "It’s a joyous occasion for the four of you to be together today, so let’s not dwell on this unpleasantness. Brother Liao, Yang Qi, come sit over here! Come chat with Brother Tao and Sister Xue!"

He didn’t seem to care in the slightest that Lin Tao had just cursed him out.

The others’ eyes burned with intense jealousy. How could this be? How could Yang Qi, a washed-up loser abandoned by his woman, be so close to someone as important as Lin Tao? It’s infuriating!

Yang Qi smirked, then grabbed Yao Qing’s hand. "Come on, let’s go sit over there."

Yao Qing blushed but nodded.

Chen Chong didn’t dare object. He just motioned for one of the other guests at the main table to move, sending him to the small table. The displaced classmate was extremely frustrated. After mocking Yang Qi for so long, he had ended up becoming the clown himself.

Thus, Yao Qing, Yang Qi, Lin Tao, Liao Fusheng, Guo Yuxue, and Tongtong all sat together at the main table. What truly shocked everyone, however, was that Yang Qi was seated in the most honored position. The way Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue treated him suggested their relationship was far more than a simple friendship.

"This is the seat Young Master Chen prepared for you. Is it really appropriate for me to sit here?" Yang Qi asked with a smile.

Lin Tao shot Chen Chong a cold glare. "He wouldn’t dare say it’s inappropriate!"

Though incredibly embarrassed and annoyed, Chen Chong didn’t dare show it. He could only nod repeatedly. "It’s fine, of course it’s fine!"

"You," Chen Chong shouted at the classmate now at the small table, "go tell the waiter to start bringing out the food."

The man was deeply embarrassed but had no choice but to obey. They had originally planned to make Yang Qi do that chore, but seeing the way Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue treated him now, would they even dare to ask?

As soon as the food arrived, Chen Chong began his masterclass in bootlicking, pulling out all the stops to heap praise on Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue.

Unfortunately for him, they paid him no attention whatsoever. The four old friends—Yang Qi, Liao Fusheng, Lin Tao, and Guo Yuxue—chatted away happily, completely forgetting anyone else was there. Chen Chong and his group were left in an incredibly awkward position.

"Fusheng, you mentioned you were in trouble, right?" Lin Tao laughed. "Why didn’t you just ask Yang Qi? Are you an idiot, having a brother this capable and not turning to him for help?"

"That’s right, Fusheng," Guo Yuxue added. "We know your business ran into trouble and that someone is suppressing it, but that’s something Yang Qi can easily solve."

"Mmm, just come to me," Yang Qi nodded. "I’ll help you take care of it. It’s no big deal."

The onlookers were floored. What is going on? Are Lin Tao and Guo Yuxue deliberately messing with Liao Fusheng? Telling him to ask Yang Qi for help? What the hell could Yang Qi possibly do?
